Upcoming Mindfulness Meditation Events
We have been blessed with much rain over the last couple of weeks of our New Year 2020, particularly in areas that have been scorched by the recent bush fires. The rain has also helped renew life to flora and fauna that suffered due to the drought conditions.
However the great deluge of rain here on the Tweed Coast caused the cancellation of our Half Day Meditation Retreat on Sunday the 9th of February. Given that many roads in the surrounding areas were becoming flooded on Friday the 7th I needed to make a that call to postpone our Retreat. I am sorry if this caused any disappointment or inconvenience for your planned weekend.
Fortunately, we have a wonderful occasion occurring for a Full Day Mindfulness Meditation Retreat led by Senior Buddhist Monks Ajahn Tiradammo and Venerable Pannyavaro. This Full Day Mindfulness Meditation Retreat will occur on Sunday the 5th of April from 9.30am to 3.00pm (Eastern Standard Time) at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery & Retreat Centre near Lismore.
Those that were registered for the Half Day Retreat on the 9th of February will go onto the list for this upcoming Retreat, so please let us know if you are unable to make this date.
The next Half Day Retreat that I will be offering will be on Sunday the 17th of May at Farrants Hill, the same theme that we were to have on the 9th of February, ‘Mindfulness For Making the Moment Meaningful’. Please let us know if you wish to register for either of these upcoming Retreats particularly if you are not able to make it for the 5th of April.
Bookings for the 5th of April Full Day Mindfulness Meditation Retreat can be made here or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Monday Evening Meditation Group
Our Monday Night Meditation Group has begun well for 2020 with a number of new people. As we move into the cooler months of the year with Autumn starting on March 1st and Day light saving ending April 4th I encourage you all to continue to remain committed to supporting each other in attending our Monday Evening Mediation Group.
Please find an interesting clip with Venerable Yuttadhmmo discussing the importance of ‘Mental Noting’ and Mindfulness.
Ajahn Tiradammo, a Senior Buddhist Monk originally from Canada who spent many years in Thailand, England, Switzerland, New Zealand and now resident at Wat Buddha Dhamma Forest Monastery near Sydney will be spending several days at Ratanagiri, Farrants Hill. The Ajahn will offer teachings and lead meditation for our Monday Evening Group on Monday the 6th of April.
If you are attending for the first time please let us know ahead of time by email email@example.com
Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery has benefited greatly from the recent rain helping to replenish the creek and refresh many of the trees that have been planted by Venerable Pannyavaro and also the ones that our group shared in planting in Spring 2019. As noted in my intro we will be holding a Full Day Mindfulness Meditation Retreat at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery & Retreat Centre on Sunday the 5th April with teachings offered by Ajahn Tiradhammo and Venerable Pannyavaro. Venerable Pannyavaro will also be offering Meditation Day Retreats, Easter Retreat and Ten Day Retreats through the year. Please check the Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery & Retreat Centre website for more details.
I wish you all great joy and wellbeing as we end this year 2020 and may this year bring great clarity of vision and insight.
