THE PRACTICE OF MINDFULNESS
I recently spent 10 days on a Mindfulness Meditation – Vipassana Retreat, held at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery and Retreat Centre, lead by Venerable Pannyavaro. This was a wonderful occasion and experience of simplifying and slowing life down, relaxing into silence and inner stillness. Days of Mindful Sitting and Walking Meditation in the context of Vipassana – Insight Wisdom, allowed for a natural unfolding of clarity and peace.
Beyond the hustle and bustle of our busy regular life, there is the possibility of making life meaningful through the practice of Mindfulness. Our Mindfulness is the foundation for freeing the mind from ordinary stress and unhappiness and realising an extraordinary happiness peace and presence.
My verse below came to mind while on retreat.
THE PRACTICE IS MINDFULNESS
Our Practice of Mindfulness is;
To continue to develop and deepen;
Strengthen and support, sustain and maintain;
Our practice of Mindfulness!
Whilst we are alive and living;
There is always something to be mindful of;
Whether this be inside of us;
From outside of us or occurring between both!
Whatever arises, whatever is occurring;
Within the mind or body experience;
There is always the opportunity to be mindful of this;
And to choose to not act or react from ignorance.
Mindfulness is the Practice and the Path to Insight-Wisdom.
Insight-Wisdom is the Way to Awaken.
To Awaken and be Awake;
Is to live free from fear and frustration and the darkness of delusion.
