Autumn Newsletter
Dear Friends in Meditation,
Welcome to Autumn – 2026, a transition season between the heat and outwardness of Summer and the cool and inwardness of Winter.
The season of Autumn, anywhere in the world creates the feel and sense of slowing and quietening down, becoming more introspective and reflective.
A wonderful time to focus on our Meditation and Dhamma / Buddhist Wisdom Teachings through reading, podcasts video’s etc.
Whilst we continue to be concerned and challenged with the issues of world, both human made and also by nature, Autumn does invite us to get our own house and also our mind in order before the Winter comes.
Here at WELL-AWARE-NESS, we did have a wonderful Meditation Half Day Retreat in December and then another in February, all part of the Summer season, led by myself which for me, is always a joy to do.
Our next two Sunday Meditation Retreat Days will be lead by Buddhist Monks, with Ajahn Medhino, who is originally from Holland giving a Retreat Day on Sunday 29th March here at Ratanagiri and Ajahn Bhuripannyo who is Australian giving a Retreat Day on Sunday 3rd May at Ratanagiri.
Please register to attend either or both Retreats by emailing – info@wellawareness.com.au.
Both monks will be staying here at Ratanagiri for several days and will also offer Dhamma Teachings and Meditation Guidance on the Thursday Night Meditation Group during their stay.
I do hope that you can arrange your time to come and spend time with the Buddhist Monks.
Please see the website for more information https://www.wellawareness.com.au/events1/
If your usual routines of Healthy Living with Meditation, Exercise and Wisdom Teachings has been disrupted through the Summer with various holidays and travel, do create the motivation for mindfulness and meditation now with the coming of Autumn.
Certainly, as my verse below suggests, Autumn is a great time to settle down and settle in to the Mindful Mode and Mood to allow our all-important Meditation to be a ‘main thing’ for ‘meaning and joy’ in our life!
May we all have a wonderful Autumn 2026.
I hope to see you soon.
Metta Regards,
John B.

A TIME FOR AUTUMN
Autumn arrived into our day,
The change of Seasons is Nature’s way.
Softer colours and softer light,
A break from Summer so sharp and bright.
The days and nights are cooler, quiet and calm,
A timely relief and a soothing balm.
For flora, fauna and fungi too, a time to rest,
Especially since to Summer they gave their best.
A time for Peace and Mindful Presence,
Where stillness, silence and simplicity is of the essence.
A time for introspection and reflection,
Enabling a mood for Samadhi Meditation.
Autumn invites a homely mindset and mental mode,
Of a sentimental and spiritual abiding and abode.
To Autumn we live in joy and kind-ful care,
A thought and feeling to all we can share.
