Trusting this message finds you mindfully moving forth into the blossoming of our new season of Spring 2019. Whilst all seasons are wonderful in their own way, Spring does brighten the mind and lighten the heart as we see and feel the significant changes in nature with its varied flora and fauna.
This week we marked the arrival of Spring with a Sunday Meditation Day Retreat at Ratanagiri – Farrants Hill led by Venerable Pannyavaro from Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery near Lismore. Venerable Pannyavaro offered wonderful teachings and technique on the most important discourse of the Buddha – The Four Foundations of Mindfulness, and the practise of Vipassana – Insight Meditation.
Our Retreat day was well attended, with wonderful weather and a lovely shared lunch. Venerable Pannyavaro offered a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and gain clarification on the practice of Insight Meditation.
I thank all of you that were able to attend our Retreat Day and for your generous support of financial Dana raising over $1000 for Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery and the development of an Insight Meditation Centre there.
Those of you that live in the area and who wish to attend a Meditation Day/Workshop with Venerable Pannyavaro, may do so on Sunday the 29th of September from 9:00am – 4:00pm at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery near Lismore, NSW.
Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery is seeking support and help in tree planting 500 rainforest trees before the weather warms. We are looking to arrange a WELL-AWARE-NESS group visit within the month possible Saturday 28th of September with an overnight stay for the Day Retreat on the 29th September. Meet at the Carpark at John’s home (Ratanagiri 11 Double View Road, Farrants Hill) by 7.45 am to leave by 8.00am, carpooling is an option. Our next Half Day Meditation Retreat at Ratanagiri with myself will be on Sunday the 20th October on the theme of Mindfulness for Gratefulness from 10:00am-1:00pm (NSW time) or 9:00am-12:00 noon (QLD time). Many of you that were not able to attend our recent Retreat due to it being Fathers Day may like to come along to this next event.
Now that our weather is warming and that we will be moving into Daylight Saving Time (Starting on the 6th of October) those of you that have been in hibernation from our Monday evening Meditation Group, may like to venture forth and reconnect. We hope to see you soon.
