SPRING Newsletter 2026
Dear Friends in Meditation,
Welcome to Spring 2026.
While every season of the year has its particular feel and function, most people agree that Spring is both beautiful and beneficial.
Spring is the awakening of nature, of flora and fauna and maybe people too, from the sleep and slumber that was Winter.
The blossoming of Spring calls us to our senses to see, smell, hear, taste and feel a coming to life – always and only in the Present Moment.
How we know and feel that we are alive is through a coming to our senses both literally and metaphorically. Our senses are only sensitive to experience in the present; not what has been or what might be!
Spring is saying – ‘look, listen and live; feel, know and be – Right Here – Right Now!, Live Now not Next!
In many ways our Mindfulness Meditation is also a calling to be present to life right now by attending to each life-giving breath in each life given moment, which both sustains our physical life and creates mental Calm and Clarity.
Our Vassa Meditation Retreat period, from the Full Moon of July to the Full Moon of October, with our four Sunday monthly Retreat Days, continues with our next Retreat on Sunday 27th September. We continue to explore the Vassa Retreat theme of the Ten Ways to Well-Being, looking into the practices of ‘Dedication of Merit’ and ‘Rejoicing in the Merit of Others’. Both these practices are ways of Giving and Sharing with others, while also lightening and brightening our mind for well-being and ease in Meditation.
Please see the Retreat information below – and register to join us for this Half-Day Retreat.
In appreciating the beauty that Spring brings, I also acknowledge the challenges of living through the Winter, which for some does become their last season.
In honouring the life of my mother who recently died peacefully on 09.09.2026; I offer my verse below.
To all creatures, Spring is dear,
Flora and fauna, hidden or hiding soon appear.
The scent of Spring is in the air,
Fragrant flowers blooming everywhere.
The seasons come, the seasons go,
The fact of this, we all do know.
Our thoughts are with those we leave behind,
The energy for further life and living, they did not find.
Their seasons for life have found an end,
Feelings of loving gratefulness we do send.
A white crane leaves its Winter’s ground,
Ascending into the bright sky, disappearing without a sound.
Kind Regards
John B
