Spring Newsletter

Dear Friends

‘Ten thousand flowers in Spring,
The moon in Autumn.
A cool breeze in Summer,
Snow in Winter.
If your mind is not clouded
By unnecessary things,
This is the best season of your life.’

Wu-Men (1183 – 1260)

Welcome to Spring.
Certainly the best season or time in our life is when our mind is calm and clear. However Spring is a wonderful season to be alive in!
Spring calls us to our senses; to see, sense and feel the change in the natural environment around us.
Spring is a great time to become Mindful of our body and feel life happening around us and within us!

Living close to nature as I do, it is a joy to observe both the plant and animal life coming forth from the retreat which was Winter.
As a Mindful and Wise reflection, especially for us here on the southern portion of our planet, the start of Spring means just 4 months of the year remaining; 3 months of Spring and 1 month of Summer.
Thus we have already lived through two thirds of our year 2017!

Because of this mark of the passage and process of time, we can reflect on change and find motivation to live Mindfully and Consciously, with Wisdom and Kindness into the warmer months of our year.
Whilst we don’t have the Easter – Spring Festival which the Northern part of our planet has, we can still bring joy and gratefulness to mind and heart as we live into our shared life with aliveness.

Kind Regards
John B.

Last month on Sunday 27th September, I held at my home ‘Ratanagiri’, on the Tweed Coast, a Half Day Meditation Retreat.
We were blessed with great weather for the day and a full capacity attendance of 28 people.
Most people came from the surrounding areas of the Tweed Coast and hinterland, Gold Coast and Byron Bay. Some also travelled from the Mid North Coast and also as far as from Sydney for the occasion.
Our half day included periods of Sitting Meditation, Walking Meditation, Wisdom Teachings with Questions / Answers and of course a cup of tea and biscuits.

I will offer further Half Day Meditation Retreats on Sunday 15th October and Sunday 3rd December.
PLEASE NOTE – I am changing the advertised time of these to accommodate DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, which begins on the 1st October.
The Retreat time is now 10.00am to 1.00pm (NSW) or 9.00am to 12.00 noon (QLD).
If you have already registered to attend, please note the new time based on your location.
If you are interested in attending either of these Retreats, do register your place asap as they do fill fast.

The WELL-AWARE-NESS Meditation Group continues in it’s new form, having moved from Thursday Nights at North Sydney, to Monday Nights at Farrants Hill on the Tweed Coast.
Our group has continued to meet each Monday from 6.30 – 7.30pm during the Winter months and now welcomes back those that have been on ‘Winters Retreat’ for the last 4 months.

There is interest in having me run a Thursday Morning Meditation Class in Kingscliff; so if you are interested in this please let me know so that I can start up a list of interested people and also locate a suitable venue. My thought is that the class might be around 10.30 – 11.30 on Thursday mornings.
